Kerry is surprising

October 13, 2012

She has learned to let us wipe her paws clean every time she enters the house from a wet walk or garden romp.
She stands statue-still when her harness and leads are being removed or put on.
She is perfectly house-trained. In fact her bladder and bowel control is amazing. She has no trouble holding it from about 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. We stocked up on poo-bags but haven’t had to use a single one. On all the walks so far she has stopped to urinate just once and has only ever defecated in the garden. From there, it’s a quick scoop and flush down the downstairs lavatory.
Despite all the prejudice, she is supremely docile but friendly with humans of all ages.
Meetings with other dogs are, at the moment, unpredictable and cats and squirrels would be lucky to escape with their lives if she was not on a lead. But that’s true, to some extent, with all dogs, I suspect.
