New software installed

April 9, 2009

First, the good news:

Now is a good time to update to Adobe Acrobat Reader version 9 as you get a free copy of the pdf creator software. Adobe has never done that before, to the best of my knowledge.

Not so good:

I installed Windows Live Mail yesterday. What a pain in the backside it was! It won’t import anything from MS Outlook and, although it receives my email, it won’t send any. I just get a TCP/IP error.

Some you win, some you lose.

Update.

Having  used Adobe’s freebie, I can report that it’s not a free copy of an old version but a Beta copy of their new one which also includes Buzzword, an online document editing and storage system, and file and screen sharing utilities (not yet tried).
