Some recent stuff

September 17, 2006

Sue and I went down to the West Country last weekend – a good run for the GTO. We hadn’t seen my family down there for a couple of years.

First stop at my sister’s in Plymouth and Sunday lunch with all her family.

Then on to the Crantock Bay Hotel, just west of Newquay. Three star, very nice. Lots of regular visitors. On the Monday we took a long walk, west along the cliff path and I took these photos (Sue took more with the SLR but the prints aren’t back yet):

Having made our way to Holywell we had to visit both pubs before walking up the hill to the lovely village of Cubert, where we stopped for a pasty before walking the rest of the way back to the hotel. The weather was fine and a lot better than forecast.

Tuesday we called in on My brother and his wife in Newquay. We had a lovely few hours together but his bad news is that the cancer on his bladder has spread and he will be having a kidney removed this week.

Back home and the results of a little rain have made quite a difference. Here’s that patio again, completely finished, and my grape vine (see my post on our holiday in the Lebanon).

Things are looking good!
